Happy Birthday!! Hope it is a great one!!!!
FLORIDA CHRISTMAS
It's Christmas time in Florida and Santa's coming soon,
To land his sleigh among the palms that sway between the dunes.
He tweets with all this Facebook friends #OldStNick,
And merged His List with Google Maps because he must be quick.
His red fur coat is toasty warm,
The frozen Pole is bleak,
Down south he dons Bermuda shorts,
And a festive shirt tres chic.
While children dream of new iPhones this still and silent night,
Santa's magic reindeer fly at twice the speed of light.
But wherever Santa finds you,
Under palms or drifts of white,
Have a very Merry Christmas,
May the New Year bring delight!

CHRISTMAS CHEER
Santa comes round every year the last week in December,
And we have been the best of friends for as I long as I remember.
When I tell folks I still believe they question my intelligence,
But I have all the proof I need: photographic evidence!
The picture’s faded just a bit and I look a little shy,
But I’m sitting there with my best pal and I’m very nearly 5!
Grownups pooh-poohs old St. Nick as supernatural fantasy,
And yet he fills the world each year with love and generosity.
When I was young he brought me toys, a train, and model cars,
A Davy Crockett Coonskin cap, books, and a guitar.
These days I want for nothing so when Santa comes this year,
He’ll bring the only gift I need: priceless Christmas cheer!

WHEN WE CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING!
Over the river and through the woods,
Arriving on time the way we should,
Proper etiquette is understood,
When we celebrate Thanksgiving!
We get together once a year,
For football games and drinking beer,
Two traditions we hold dear,
When we celebrate Thanksgiving!
We gather friends and famIly around,
A glorious feast meant to astound,
For joy and laughter doth abound,
When we celebrate Thanksgiving!
So always remember and never forget,
The love you give is the love you get,
So give your Thanks without regret,
When we celebrate Thanksgiving!

GO BILLS!
60 years ago the Buffalo Bills won their first AFL Championship in a game played at the Old Rockpile right after Christmas. The Bills are overdue to win another! (Also, we were starting our senior year 60 years ago!)
So here's to the ones we still hold dear, and another for those no longer here.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
To all the Mom's, Grandmoms, and really Great-Grandmoms!
Hope you have a very special day!
The last Playoff loss was especially painful. You’re right, Bart, the Defense was in shambles. A linebacker contingent comprised of A J Klein, Tyrel Dotson, and Dorian Williams isn’t scaring anybody. Bless their hearts, they left it all on the field but they weren’t starting with much.
KC had half a dozen running plays that each gained at LEAST 8-yards. Primarily up the middle. In the entire game they only faced faced FIVE third downs! The Bills had 14.
But I still have hope for 2024 because with all the injuries, the Bills led at halftime, 17-13 and at the end of the 3rd quarter, 24-20. Maybe if Diggs catches the ball, maybe if Bass makes both FGs, maybe, maybe, maybe. The game wasn’t a blowout. Buffalo already beat them once in Kansas City and they nearly did again, even with the Defense a shadow of its former self.
I think the Bills will be fine. They are playing good teams but Buffalo is no slouch. No team is saying, ‘Oh goody! We get to go against Allen & Co.’ With a break or two who knows?
The Bills are DUE!

I wasn't sure about posting this recap of the draft. I've been doing these since I worked at a fantasy football website, Footballguys.com., so I was going to do it anyway. Thought it might spark some responses from all youse Mafia types.
2024 BUFFALO BILLS DRAFT RECAP
#33 WR Keon Coleman, Florida State. 6’3, 215 lbs, 38” vertical, 10’ 7”
In my Bills mock draft I had them selecting, at #28, WR Xavier Worthy from Texas. His record setting 40-time combined with three productive years as both a receiver and return specialist for the Longhorns was compelling. I freaked out when Beane not only traded ‘my draft choice’ but sent him to stinking Kansas City. It would have been nice to have a receiver Josh Allen might have trouble overthrowing.
The Bills obviously had a different agenda which, I believe, was predicated on the 2023 season. To see how they decided that 6’3, 215 lb Keon Coleman was the best fit for their offense, let’s look a the numbers.
In 2023 Buffalo was 7th in league with 5.4% dropped passes. Who can forget Diggs dropping that bomb from Allen against KC in the playoffs? Or James Cook dropping passes at the most inopportune times? Josh might be part of the problem. His passes tend to come in HOT. Coleman only dropped 2 passes last year and 5 in his collegiate career. He catches passes with his hands because of his basketball background. He averaged 26 points per game in high school and once score 63. He even got to play for legendary hoop coach Tom Izzo his freshman year at Michigan State but only got into six games.
After Ken Dorsey was fired and Joe Brady took over the Bills became a running team. Starting week 11 Buffalo ran the ball over 51% of the time, 2nd most in the league. That’s when Cook emerged as a real threat and the numbers for Diggs and the other receivers tailed off. Keon Coleman is both a willing and enthusiastic blocker. On some of Florida State’s running plays you can see Coleman sealing off defenders or flat out pancaking defensive backs.
Add in the fact that Xavier Worthy does not have reliable hands and, at 163 lbs, probably couldn’t block me (really kidding!) better to with Keon's 215 lbs.
Coleman makes more sense and is a better all-around player. At Florida State he received First-team All-ACC as a wide receiver, an all-purpose player and special teams. He only played one year in Tallahassee but he became the first FSU player to win all three first-team awards in the same season.

Could anyone who plans to witness the eclipse be kind enough to shed some light on your experience for those of us who are not left out in the dark?
A little enlightenment goes a long way.
Thank you.

I was born on Good Friday, 1948. My birthday never fell on Good Friday again because Easter is celebrated on the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the 1st day of Spring.
Anyone else born on a Good Friday?
