Very sorry to hear this. I always thought he was one of the few nice looking teachers and always had a smile. RIP

Always had fun with Mr. Lucia..."canvas back A vs. canvas back B''  was one of his often used comments to keep things light....if if weren't for him putting up with my B minus skill set for the sport, I may never have gone on to coach at Silver Creek High....He made it fun!!

Mr. Lucia,  There are a lot of us indepted to you for providing a great atmosphere to learn, develop skills and compete whether in gym class or on the wrestling team.   You made it enjoyable experience, learned commaraderie, and sportsmanship which went a long way to decency in life - it was just a sport.  Being decent is forever.  We'll all remember you as being lucky to have known you.   Thanks for all!

Good person who was patient and fair.  I'm sure he touched many lives with a positive note. I know he taught me a lesson or two.

Bob Lucia touched so many of our lives as a Physical Ed. teacher. Bob was a good man with great wit and a good sence of humor! He was respected by all. His wrestling record as a coach tells it all....Sucess!
May you RIP Mr Lucia!

I remember Mr. Lucia as a Kenmore Day Camp counselor in 1956, '57&'58. He taught all these fine traits to many 8-12 year olds who he would see later in his career.

Mr. Lucia was a great teacher and role model. I always admired him. He was tough. He used to demonstrate push ups for us in physical education class. I was very impressed. At the time I was on our football team and was doing good in my bench presses and push ups. He was strong and he praised us. It is important to praise and encourage your students. He did that. I think he is in heaven because of what he did to help all of us.

Mr. Lucia was my homeroom teacher for my entire career at West in addition to being the Gym teacher. He was one of the nicest, most understanding teachers I ever knew in all my years of attending school anywhere. Even though I had a really hard time getting to school  on time, for some reason he never came down on me for it. I'll remember him with his ever-present smile for the rest of my life. R.I.P. Mr. Lucia...

My interaction with Mr. Lucia was as a member of the wrestling team in my senior year. He was always very supportive and spoke to you and not at you. Continually trying to improve my skills. I enjoyed being around him and my teammates.
