
Mellie John Mooshie , 89, of Tallahassee, Fla., a retired Kenmore West High School teacher, died Wednesday (Jan. 20, 1999) in Tallahassee. He lived in Kenmore for many years. He moved to Tallahassee four years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn of Redwood Valley, Calif.; two sons, John of Crawfordville, Fla., and Richard of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Lola Lazar of Turlock, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Mooshie was one of my all-time favorite teachers. He had a way of bringing history alive with his story-telling and flair for the dramatic.

I remember sitting on Mr. Mooshie's front porch with about twenty other kids getting ready for the American History Regents exam.....He went that extra mile to help us do well...
