Seems ironic that Miss Schwabe's bio is only 3 lines while most other teachers' bios are voluminous, because I remember her as a force of nature in her devotion to teaching.  Not that the other teachers with more bio space weren't often excellent educators, but I remember her as something special.

Totally agree with you, Rick!  She was a force of nature and so devoted to all of us.  My mother knew her in her later years and took me to her apartment to visit, probably five or six years before she died.

As Miss Schwabe herself would say:  She was "fearfully and wonderfully made".  Really made an impression on me.

Ms. Schwabe taught me both biology & advanced biology.  One of my favorite teachers.  Remember dissecting the snapping turtle!

There could not have been a better and more caring person, so devoted. I remeber being in Lab Squad when we were sent home because J.F. Kennedy was killed.

No one who was ever in her class could forget Miss Schwabe: she loved teaching and she cared about all of her students. Certainly one of the very best teachers I have been fortunate enough to know.

Miss Schwabe was by far my favorite teacher ever. She was so very devoted to her students and their success. Not an easy teacher - really pushed us to our limits and our very best.

Miss Schwabe was absolutely amazing! I remember growing bull frog tadpoles with her in 10th grade.  When I got to college I didn't take biology, but I helped the kids in freshman bio because I had learned so much in her class! And yes of course I remember that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made!"
