George Sneath (Teacher)

George N. Sneath, a former teacher and Town of Tonawanda resident, died of cancer Nov. 5, 2001, in St. Anthony's Hospital North, Westminster, Colo. He was 80.  Born in Lancaster, Pa., Sneath graduated from Millersville College and served in Germany with the Army Air Forces during World War II.
He taught English at Kenmore West High School for 20 years before retiring in 1979. He was president of the Kenmore Teachers Association in the 1960s and active in local amateur theater.  A published writer, he was known for his storytelling. He enjoyed gardening and cooking.  After retiring, Sneath moved to Denver with his wife, the former Beth Innis, who died in April.
