Sarah La Duca (Teacher) (Aloisio)

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sarah LaDuca Aloisio, 80, a retired  teacher and administrator in Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda schools, will be  offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Amelia's Catholic Church, Eggert Road and  St. Amelia Drive, Town of Tonawanda, after prayers in the Lester H. Wedekindt  funeral home, 3290 Delaware Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in  Mount Calvary Mausoleum, Town of Tonawanda.
Mrs. Aloisio, 80, died Thursday (Nov. 15, 1990) in Sisters Hospital.
During 40 years of teaching she had taught French, Spanish, Latin and German.
       
A Buffalo native, she graduated from D'Youville College and received a  master's degree from Middlebury College in Vermont.  She began teaching in 1932 in North Collins High School and remained there  until 1946. She then moved to Kenmore schools, first as a teacher in Kenmore Junior High School and Kenmore-West High School, then as an administrator, retiring in 1972. She instituted a language laboratory program in the schools' foreign language courses.
       
A Town of Tonawanda resident, she was a eucharistic minister and lector at  St. Amelia's Catholic Church and a volunteer in the Reach for Recovery program for cancer patients and her parish outreach program. She was active in  D'Youville College alumni activities, the College Club of Buffalo, the St.  Amelia's Women's Guild and the Golden Nuggets senior citizens group.
       
She was the widow of John P. Aloisio, a professor of Italian at Niagara  County Community College.
